New Anglia University

New Anglia University approaches medical education as a progressive journey in which students develop academically, professionally and personally as they move from foundational scientific study to practical experience in clinical environments.

Based in Anguilla, the international medical university offers a four-year Medical Doctor (MD) programme together with a Premedical Programme. The Premedical Programme provides a structured foundation for students who require additional academic preparation before beginning medical studies, helping them develop the scientific knowledge required for progression into medical education.

Within the MD programme, students initially complete approximately 20 months of Basic Sciences education at the University’s campus in Anguilla. Academic teaching is complemented by laboratory work, simulation, practical activities and early exposure to clinical environments, allowing students to develop their knowledge through different forms of learning.

Students subsequently progress to 72 weeks of Clinical Sciences, where the emphasis increasingly shifts towards applying their knowledge in real healthcare environments. New Anglia University’s clinical network encompasses more than 50 hospitals and healthcare organisations across the United Kingdom and United States, creating opportunities for students to undertake clinical training within a range of healthcare settings.

Core clinical education includes Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Family Medicine, while elective rotations enable students to broaden their experience and explore additional areas of medicine.

New Anglia University welcomes students from varied educational and cultural backgrounds. Its learning environment encourages active participation, the development of confidence and increasing independence as students progress through their medical education.

Scientific knowledge is developed alongside clinical skills, critical thinking, communication, professionalism and patient-centred care. By combining foundational study in Anguilla with extensive clinical education and international healthcare exposure, New Anglia University aims to provide a coherent pathway through which students can progressively develop the knowledge, practical experience and professional attributes required of future doctors.
