The International School of Havana (ISH) is a community of collaborative life-long learners with shared values and understandings founded in excellence.
- We foster academic excellence and challenge, emphasising empathy, integrity, and ethical problem-solving skills, for all learners.
- We communicate clearly, adhering to our established Learner Profile, and Learning and Community Principles.
- We learn to make a difference as internationally minded global citizens in a vibrant, creative atmosphere.
Our rigorous academic programs are designed to challenge and inspire students from early childhood through to graduation. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that includes the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Cambridge Assessment International Education and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. Our small class sizes and personalised approach ensure that each student receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive.
Additionally, our Student Success Department is dedicated to providing students with specific learning needs and the necessary tools and resources to guarantee their success. The department includes:
- EAL (English as an Additional Language): Providing targeted support for students whose first language is not English, helping them achieve proficiency and thrive in an English-speaking academic environment.
- ILP (Individualised Learning Plans): Tailoring educational plans to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring personalised learning experiences and support.
- Counselling and University Guidance: Offering academic counselling, career guidance, and personal development support to help students navigate their academic, social and emotional journey and future aspirations.
ISH is more than just a school; it’s a community. Our diverse student body and faculty come from over 45 different countries, creating a rich tapestry of cultures and perspectives. We believe that this diversity enhances the learning experience and prepares our students to be global citizens. We encourage students to engage with and contribute to the world around them through various cultural events, extracurricular activities, and community impact projects.
